Kraków, 28 May 2025 – The Permanent Representation of Italy to ICAO took part in the 164th Meeting of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) of the Directors General of Civil Aviation Authorities (DGCA/164), held today in Kraków.
The event, opened under the chairmanship of ECAC President Alessio Quaranta, was attended by the European Permanent Representatives to the ICAO Council, as well as representatives from the European Commission, EASA, EUROCONTROL, JAA Training Organisation (JAA TO), and the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office.
Numerous topics were addressed during the session, including the analysis of proposals arising from the ECAC Coordinating Committee meeting, with particular attention to the implementation of a Declaration of Cooperation among the main international organizations in the sector. The outcomes of the recent ECAC Diplomatic Conference, held the previous week in Paris, were also shared.
Special focus was given to the ICAO agenda, including preparations for the 42nd General Assembly scheduled for the autumn, the upcoming ICAO Council elections, the presentation of the new Strategic Plan 2026–2050, and international initiatives on cyber security, aeronautical operations, and environmental sustainability.
The Italian delegation present in Kraków was composed of:

- Giovanna Laschena, Director General for International Relations, Safety and Research Coordination – ENAC
- Luca Demicheli, Environmental Policy Expert at the Permanent Representation of Italy to the International Organizations in Paris
- Yonara Capitani, Officer at the Directorate for Institutional Relations and Communication – ENAC
