Hanno avuto oggi luogo a Montreal le elezioni per il nuovo Presidente del Consiglio ICAO che sostituir\u00e0, dal gennaio 2026, dopo due trienni consecutivi di mandato, l\u2019italiano Salvatore Sciacchitano.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
Ha prevalso, con 22 voti su 36 votanti, Toshiyuki Onuma, ex Vicedirettore dell\u2019Aviazione civile nipponica e attuale Rappresentante permanente del Giappone presso l\u2019ICAO. \u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
14 i voti per l\u2019altro candidato, Sameh Elhefny, Ministro per l\u2019aviazione civile egiziana nonch\u00e9 Rappresentante Permanente dell\u2019Egitto presso l\u2019ICAO.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
\u00a0Il Rappresentante Permanente italiano Sergio Martes ha presentato, nel prosieguo della seduta ed in qualit\u00e0 di coordinatore semestrale, i complimenti del Gruppo europeo al Presidente eletto, auspicando che il suo mandato possa continuare nel solco della modernizzazione dell\u2019Organizzazione tracciato da Sciacchitano. Di seguito il breve discorso pronunciato dall\u2019Ambasciatore Martes:<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
\u201cThank you, Mr. President Sciacchitano for the floor,<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n And, most of all, thank you for everything you have done for our organization over the past six years.<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n But we will definitely have time to come back to this!<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n Now. It was a fair and interesting competition, and, for that, I would first really like to thank both of our excellent candidates.
