The work of the 239th Session of the ICAO Council has begun and will conclude on 13 November.
Among the main items on the agenda are the preparation of the Seventh Air Transport Conference (ATConf/7) and the Extraordinary Assembly for the election of the four new Council Members, scheduled for November 2026, as well as the definition of the agenda for the Third High-level Conference on Aviation Security (HLCAS/3) to be held in 2027.
As usual, environmental and organizational governance issues will be addressed.
Finally, mention should be made of the Facilitation sector and the issue of the use of air transport for irregular migration.
